"What are You worth?"

Contract Recruiters are frequently paid on an hourly basis.  As a result, it behooves us to keep on top of the “pay rates” for Contract Recruiters in our respective areas of the World and industries.  Recently, I’ve seen a huge variance as I have talked with Contract Recruiters.  q8~{(hX

In my Yahoo Group for Contract Recruiters, we have established a database for Contract Recruiter “pay rates”.  Check out Click to join ContractRecruiterJobs for this Yahoo Group and join the Group to view the pay rate data from members.  Amazingly, rates vary from as low as $22.00 / hour to the high of $95.00 / hour.  Obviously, the rates are impacted by the experience of the recruiter, location of the Employer, the industry being recruited in, the skills or experience needed to recruit for the positions, and of course whether the position is Virtual or On-site at the Employer’s office.  Employers also vary the rates depending on whether the Contract Recruiter is working on a 1099 or W-2 basis.  tG2S*UN-u.pWX

c'[V![%bp0HT So, how do we determine “what we are worth” when new Contract Recruiter opportunities are advertised?  My thought is obviously based on many of the qualifiers above, but also and maybe more importantly, on what is established as the “going market rate” for a Contract Recruiter.  That market rate is impacted by the same laws of supply and demand as we see in other professional position salary scales as well.  It is also based on the expectations the Employer has regarding alternative recruiting methods and the costs they would incur to fill positions with internal recruiting resources or external agencies.F1n4N:l8~
