JOB OBJECTIVE:This position will achieve GI product sales goals within the geographic area of responsibility (South or North of China) by developing and maintaining relationships with market leaders in Genetic Identity and by implementing the sales and marketing program outlined by the company. The goal of this position is to assure that Promega’s sales objectives are implemented effectively and that available field resources are used well for customer support and satisfaction. In addition, this position is responsible for key account development nation wide and will be expected to coordinate a variety of tactics toward this end. Finally, this position is also responsible for gathering information about technical developments and competitor activities and presenting technical information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1.Within the geographic area, develop and maintain relationships with key contacts and GI laboratories that influence the purchase or directly purchase Promega products.
2.Implement the tactics outlined in the GI sales and marketing plan.
3.Coordinate and present GenePrint product workshops and seminars.
4.Represent Promega and perform technical sales functions at GI tradeshows and symposia.
5.Customize literature, promotions and GenePrint product information to suit the needs of local markets.
6.Work with local sales teams to obtain new sales leads.
7.Identify, track, and develop key accounts.
8.Help organize and conduct field marketing activities such as workshop programs, focus groups and beta test programs.
9.Track technical developments and trends; report monthly.
10.Track competitor activities; report monthly.
11.Work with other FAS to attain annual sales objectives.
12.Prepare annual marketing/sales plan for territory.
13.Work with Professional Associations to determine the loci needed for future products.
14.Understand and comply with Promega’s quality system and policies.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Master Degree with experience in molecular biology, forensic, science or related area an extensive experience performing DNA typing protocols.
2.Experience presenting technical information to large groups.
3.Proven ability to effectively communicate ( in writing and verbally) with key contacts at all levels in an organization.
4.A broad-based technical background in molecular biology techniques and DNA typing laboratory experience.
5.The ability to travel up to 65% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.One year sales or marketing related experience, which may include sales, marketing, customer service, technical service, or similar positions.
2.Highly self-motivated; an independent worker.
3.Well organized, able to devise and manage systems for handling customers/accounts.
4.Flexible in work schedule; able to accommodate unexpected work changes.
5.Broad technical base; able to communicate effectively about a wide variety of technologies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Ability to occasionally move 25 lbs. of promotional materials and literature.
2.Ability to travel.
3.Ability to use computer and telephone equipment.
