So I was browsing around and came across this list from Discovery Channel of the 25 greatest Americans.

QoH is one of those very important ideas that we all understand and agree on, while having "greatly" divergant views of the actual actionable result. * c. E5 }4 Z3 f5 _, E# M
: C5 t) M( \3 v, y# ^! Z& \How is greatness really scored, ranked, and then secured with metrics ? 0 f4 n* b& q$ V: h' I

Salespeople and baseball players; no problemo- but there is a universe of roles driving every winning organization- so how do you decide ?4 ]( ]4 I5 l* l! o5 c
Is it massive volume of information and data points ? The Discovery Channel list seems to say otherwise, because I'll wager you don't have more than two or three in their top ten.

What about weighting ? Big jobs give more far chances for greatness than small jobs. QoH must relate to compensation, but that relationship is problematic today. Big jobs have better chances of being symbolic jobs, and we are utterly creatures of symbol, even, or especially, in business. How do you measure and value symbolic contributions that generate, by whatever means, real cash or performance ?
